United States Delegation

Oregon's United States Representatives and Senators
In addition to State Legislators, Oregon has elected members that represent our constituents in Washington, D.C. The Oregon Blue Book is the best guide for learning about your Federal delegation.

E.g.: Again, let's say you live at the Oregon State Capitol: 900 Court Street NE Salem, OR 97301. Your National House District is 6, and your representative is Andrea Salinas. Your Senators, which represent the entirety of Oregon, are Jeff Merkely and Ron Wyden.

Contacting Federal Delegation
You can utilize the United States House of Representatives and United States Senate webpages to find direct contacts for Oregon's Federal Representatives and Senators. By following the steps bellow, connecting with your members of Congress is easy and another way to have your voices and opinions heard.
  • Find your members phone number, or connect to the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 to be connected with their office
    • Tip: Members of Congress have both district and Washington D.C. offices, so opt to call both if you can.
  • Prepare for your call and be as specific as possible
    • Tip: Write a script to help you stay on course - Include your name, where you're from, an explanation of why you're calling, and why the topic of discussion matters to you.
  • Make the call - Typically you will be answered by office staff or intern, who will pass your message along to the Congress member
    • Tip: Follow-up on your calls as you see fit, and if you experience phone anxiety, calling after hours and leaving a voicemail is a great option.
